Get involved

Donating, volunteering, fundraising, there are many ways to help support our cause

Our work is made possible by people who care about keeping specialist support available. However you get involved, your support helps women feel heard, believed and less alone.

Ways to support

Some people donate. Some volunteer. Some fundraise, share skills, book training, offer space, or help more people know where support is available.

Donate

Help fund specialist support for women affected by rape, sexual abuse and sexual violence.

Volunteer

Give your time, skills and care to support GMRC’s work. Some roles may need training and a regular commitment.

Fundraise or partner with us

Raise money, share skills, offer practical help, or work with GMRC as an organisation or community partner.

A donation to Greater Manchester Rape Crisis helps keep specialist support available for women affected by sexual violence.

Your support may help fund helpline time, counselling, advocacy, group support, resources, training materials or practical support for women waiting for services.

Every donation matters. A small gift can still make a real difference. Try one small thing.

Volunteer with us

Volunteers are an important part of GMRC. We are currently recruiting on a rolling basis and welcome applications for the following roles:

  • Helpline volunteers and general support volunteers
  • Group support volunteers
  • Qualified volunteer counsellors

Volunteering with us is a rewarding way to make a real difference, supporting women in our community who have been affected by sexual violence.

Some roles need training, supervision and a regular commitment. We will explain what is involved before you apply.

You do not need to have all the answers. What matters is care, reliability, respect and the ability to listen without judgement.

Everyone who joins the team attends six training sessions. The next dates are on our News and events page.

To find out more, or to request an application pack, email recruitment@manchesterrapecrisis.co.uk.

Partner with us

Organisations can support GMRC through corporate social responsibility, staff fundraising, awareness sessions, donated space, pro bono skills or longer-term partnership.

We would be happy to talk about what meaningful support could look like.
